USA Volleyball Boys Region Bids

Please see email below from USA Volleyball in regards to Boys Bids Good Morning Regions, We know everyone is anxious to learn the more about the new Boys Region bid we are implementing in 2023, below are more details on the bid.  BJNC Overview - 2023 Growth USA Volleyball will add 1 Regional division to BJNC with the American division. The American Division for BJNC will be a Region only division with 24 teams for the 16s and 18s age groups only for 2023.  Similar to the Girls, we will have a benchmark Regions must meet according to membership numbers to receive one of these bids.  There will also be a similar reallocation process and order. The bid allocations will come out by the beginning of September or sooner. **Note: we chose to only add 16s & 18s Region bids after evaluating the 2022 BJNC numbers and over-all 2022 membership numbers. We will continue to monitor the growth of other age groups (14s, 15s, 17s) and determine when a more ideal year will be to add the additional Region bids. The Division order of strength will be as follows:Open (14-18s) – Qualifier bidUSA (14-18s) – Qualifier bidAmerican (16 & 18s) – Region bid onlyClub (12-18s) – non qualifying In addition, USA Volleyball will be adding a 10th Boys Qualifier, the Mountain Classic from December 2-4, 2022.  We will be evaluating the current distribution of bids for the Open and USA divisions for current Boys Qualifiers and we will communicate the new bid structure by early September as well. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you!

2021 Girls JNC registration Delayed

Please see note from USA Volleyball about registration issues. Hi Region Leadership, Due to an administrative oversight and communication errors, we have made the decision to redo 2021 Girls Junior National Championship registration that had opened earlier today. We understand there was some confusion on the time that registration opened. We want to ensure that all teams have an equal and fair opportunity to register for the event and secure their spot in the Patriot Division. All teams that have registered today in all divisions will be removed and will need to reregister on the new date and time. No current spots will be held or transferred. The new registration date will be Wednesday, January 27th at 12 pm EST. Again we apologize for the inconvenience to all teams, we feel strongly that this is the best way to resolve the issue. Thank you, USAV Events Dept.

17/18s Age Waiver for 2021 Season

From the USAV Office NEW for the 2021 SEASON GIRLS' 18 AND UNDER WAIVERED PLAYER:  Players who were born on or after September 1, 2002, (who are defined as 18 & under by the USAV Age Definition) and are in the 11th grade for the current academic year are eligible to compete in the 17 & under division. For example: A 17 year old female player who is considered by the Age Definition to compete on an 18s team and is still in the 11th grade for the current academic year, may compete on their 17s team in a qualifying division for both NQs and GJNC with a waiver from their region. Please note: the frozen player rule would still be enforced.  A player can play on both a 17s & 18s team during the season but would become frozen to a roster with whatever team they qualify with first and would no longer be eligible to play for both teams in qualification.

SBA Loan Info

Please see copy of letter sent to all USAV Region Leadership from USA Volleyball's CEO: Dear Regional Leadership – As previously advised by the USOCP, we informed you that the national Small Business Administration (SBA) loan program is only open to for-profit organizations, however, this is not completely clear at this point and certain SBAs have distributed language that indicates non-profits are actually eligible.  This could include USAV as well as the regions.  Please check with your respective state SBA for more detailed eligibility and status of your federal disaster area designation. If you believe that you may need financial assistance, we recommend you seek out these opportunities and apply in the meantime just in case. More information including the application link is available here: https://disasterloan.sba.gov/ela/.  Note: The website and application will experience unprecedented traffic. If the page will not load, please check back at a later time. TIPS FOR APPLYING: ·     Include the disaster in your application - specifically name "COVID-19" or "Coronavirus" ·     Apply online versus by mail ·     Write your password down; neither the system nor any personnel are able to retrieve it ·     Save your work at every prompt. The website may go down periodically due to high volume. If this happens, try to login again at a later time. ·     Do not rush through the application. Check and recheck the filing requirements to ensure that all the needed information is completed prior to submission. The biggest reason for delays in processing is due to missing information.  ·     Be sure to use the same contact information (business name and the name of all owners) that you use on your federal tax returns. Double check that they match. ·     If your tax [...]
