Please see copy of the email sent to all Old Dominion Region Players in regards to the new High Performance program. Hello - Hopefully you have heard by now, the Old Dominion Region now has approved participation in the 2017 USAV High Performance Championships. This is great news for the volleyball youth of the ODR - these are essentially All-Star Regional teams that will compete against other regions All-Star teams, as well as nationally formed teams ('Continental', 'A1', etc). We will offer boys and girls teams in two age divisions: Select (athletes born in years 2002/2003); and Future Select (athletes born in years 2004/2005 or after). More about the USAV High Performance Indoor Program can be found at the USA Volleyball Website. This email is to invite all Club Directors, Coaches, Parents and Players to participate in this program! We need Coaches, evaluators, and tryout / training staff as well as talented young volleyball players to complete our rosters. Applications for both can be found on the Old Dominion Region’s website: http://www.ODRVB.org/hp/ We currently have a great core group of coaches participating that have prior HP experience – but are looking for more to get involved in this great opportunity for both the athletes and the coaches to learn! If you’re an athlete, or a parent of an athlete who is interested in participating, you must come to at least one of the tryout sessions: April 21, Friday, at the Tidewater Volleyball Center. Check-in will open at 5:00pm with physical testing to begin immediately. The tryout session will run from 6:30pm – 9:30pm. May 26, Friday, at the Richmond Volleyball Center (North). Check-in will open at 4:30pm with physical testing to begin immediately. [...]
