Junior Officials: Here’s How to Get Your Training Done for the Season

The holidays are coming… which means tons of ODR junior athletes hop online to finish their officiating training before tournaments begin. If that’s you—good news! Here’s the quick, simple guide to get you exactly where you need to go and what you need to complete.

Step 1: Make Sure You Have Your USAV Membership

You MUST have your USA Volleyball membership before you can do any training.

(Your club may give you a direct link.)

After you register, you’ll automatically get access to the USA Volleyball Academy (that’s where the training lives).

Step 2: Log Into the USA Volleyball Academy

1. Log in to SportsEngine.

2. Click on your membership (if multiple people are in your account).

3. On your dashboard, find the USA Volleyball Academy tile.

4. Hit the blue LAUNCH button.

5. Once the Academy opens, click Content Library on the left.

That’s where you’ll find your courses.

Step 3: Choose the Courses You Need

Juniors only have ONE module per course—easy.

You’ll see these five options:

• Junior R1 – OD26_011

• Junior R2 – OD26_012

• Junior Line Judge – OD26_013

• Junior Scorer – OD26_014

• Junior Libero Tracker – OD26_015

You can take any or all of them. After you finish a module, you’re officially credentialed for that job.

IMPORTANT:
Don’t just click a random video in the Library.
You MUST click Start This Course inside each official ODR course or you will NOT get credit.

Step 4: Finish the Module

Each Junior course takes one module—watch it all the way through.

Tips:

• A computer or laptop works best

• Chrome is the most reliable browser

• Let every slide finish before clicking forward

• You can stop & restart anytime

When you’re done, the Academy sends your info to SportsEngine automatically. Your credential will show up on your roster within a couple of days.

Step 5: Optional But Helpful

Many big tournaments now use electronic scoring.
If your coach wants scorers trained on this, look for:

Once you’re credentialed, you’re ready to help your team as an R1, R2, scorer, libero tracker, or line judge this season. Complete your training early—don’t wait until your first tournament!
