About USAV High Performance (HP)

USA Volleyball is the National Governing Body for the sport of volleyball in the United States. The national organization runs and manages the USA National Men’s and Women’s Volleyball Teams, the USA Olympic Teams, and also USA Youth and Junior National Teams for each gender. The Youth and Junior National Teams, along with a number of tiered training programs, fall under the High Performance (HP) Department.

The HP Program at USA Volleyball is the “pipeline” for young volleyball athletes who aspire to reach the elite level of their sport. HP provides many team and camp opportunities for young volleyball athletes in three designated age groups for each gender. These age groups are determined by an athlete’s year of birth (using international criteria) and begin approximately when they are 13 or 14 years old, continuing for six seasons, often into their collegiate years.

The mission of the USAV High Performance Program is to build a national pipeline of junior volleyball athletes and coaches, creating broad opportunities for advancing the level of play, competition and skill development throughout the sport.

2020 Information will be published soon.

About the USAV HP Regional Championships

This tournament is different from any other junior’s tournament you have played, it is a 5 day tournament. All matches are 3 out of 5 and teams do not have any work team assignments. You will be playing all-star teams from across the country and some international teams.

The ODR HP Regional team allows outstanding youth and junior volleyball athletes to play in front of college coaches and represent the Old Dominion Region at this international volleyball tournament each year.  This includes International Rule format with substitutions (6 subs, in & out only once per set).
